Paying your rent
Rent payments are due, in advance, from the first day of your tenancy and on the same date each month thereafter, unless otherwise detailed in your lease. CHT do not ask for a deposit.
We would prefer that you set up a monthly standing order to pay your rent. Talk to us if you want to discuss alternative payments. If your tenancy is managed by CHT as Letting Agents on behalf of another Landlord, you should refer to your tenant handbook for payment details. |
CHT payment details are:
Triodos Bank, Deanery Road, Bristol Account number: 20294409 Sort code: 16-58-10 Ref: your name/development |
Rent increases
The Scottish Government introduced the Cost Of Living Act (Tenant Protection) (Scotland) 2022, which first froze, then capped, rent increases for private lets at 3%. The temporary rent cap and evictions protections will no longer apply from 1 April 2024. This final date is built into the legislation and cannot be extended further.
The protection applies to all applicable Rent Increase Notices issued on or before 31 March 2024. The extra eviction protections will also come to an end at this point.
If you are a tenant worried about what this means for you, you can find out more information by visiting the Scottish Government website
As a private landlord, CHT are entitled to raise rents in line with current legislation once a year, giving tenants a minimum of 3 months notice.
