UPSTAIRS LIVING

You can contact our Housing Management Team on [email protected]
please check your junk mail and make us a trusted sender if any e-mails are going to this folder
Living in a multi-story building comes with a great sense of community, but it also means we share more than just the front door - we share sound! Because of the way sound travels through floorboards and ceilings, what feels like a light step upstairs can often sound much louder to the neighbours below.

To keep our buildings a peaceful place for everyone to call home, we kindly ask our upstairs residents to keep a few "mindful movement" tips in mind:
Soft Steps & Heavy Lifting
  • The "Indoor Shoe" Rule: Consider swapping hard-soled shoes or heels for slippers or socks when you're inside. It makes a world of difference for the folks downstairs.
  • Furniture Care: If you’re moving chairs or shifting a table, please try to lift rather than drag. (Area rugs are also great "sound-mufflers" for high-traffic spots!)

After Hours Awareness
  • Late Night/Early Morning: We all have different schedules, but between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, sound carries significantly further. Please be extra mindful of heavy footsteps, loud music, or running appliances like vacuums and laundry during these times.
  • Pet Playtime: If your furry friend loves a midnight game of fetch, try to keep the "zoomies" to carpeted areas to keep the peace.
The Golden Rule

A little bit of awareness goes a long way. Most noise issues are unintentional, and a friendly "hello" to your neighbours is often the best way to ensure everyone is comfortable.
Thank you for being a thoughtful neighbour and helping us maintain a quiet, respectful environment for everyone!
